CVSS v3.1 |
| VIPRE Advanced Security Incorrect Permission Assignment Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of VIPRE Advanced Security. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the Anti Malware Service. The issue results from incorrect permissions on a file. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of SYSTEM. Was ZDI-CAN-22345. |
A privilege escalation (PE) vulnerability in the Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect app on Windows devices enables a local user to execute programs with elevated privileges.
In Ocean Data Systems Dream Report, an incorrect permission vulnerability could allow a local unprivileged attacker to escalate their privileges and could cause a denial-of-service.
drbd8 allows local users to bypass intended restrictions for certain actions via netlink packets, similar to CVE-2009-3725.
openSUSE 11.2 installs the devtmpfs root directory with insecure permissions (1777), which allows local users to gain privileges via unspecified vectors.
Joomla! com_mailto 1.5.x through 1.5.13 has an automated mail timeout bypass.
ipmievd (aka the IPMI event daemon) in OpenIPMI, as used in the ipmitool package 1.8.11 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6, Debian GNU/Linux, Fedora 16, and other products uses 0666 permissions for its ipmievd.pid PID file, which allows local users to kill arbitrary processes by writing to this file.
PackageKit 0.6.17 allows installation of unsigned RPM packages as though they were signed which may allow installation of non-trusted packages and execution of arbitrary code.
The bootloader configuration module (pyanaconda/bootloader.py) in Anaconda uses 755 permissions for /etc/grub.d, which allows local users to obtain password hashes and conduct brute force password guessing attacks.
ISPConfig 3.0.4.3: the "Add new Webdav user" can chmod and chown entire server from client interface.
Unspecified vulnerability in the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) component in Oracle Java SE 7 update 4 and earlier, 6 update 32 and earlier, 5 update 35 and earlier, and 1.4.2_37 and earlier allows local users to affect confidentiality via unknown vectors related to printing on Solaris or Linux.
The install-chef-suse.sh script shipped with crowbar before 2012-10-02 is creating files containing confidential data with insecure permissions, allowing local users to read confidential data.
Katello Installer before 0.0.18 uses world-readable permissions for /etc/pki/tls/private/katello-node.key when deploying a child Pulp node, which allows local users to obtain the private key by reading the file.
ovirt-engine 3.2 running on Linux kernel 3.1 and newer creates certain files world-writeable due to an upstream kernel change which impacted how python's os.chmod() works when passed a mode of '-1'.
Kubean is a cluster lifecycle management toolchain based on kubespray and other cluster LCM engine. The ClusterRole has `*` verbs of `*` resources. If a malicious user can access the worker node which has kubean's deployment, he/she can abuse these excessive permissions to do whatever he/she likes to the whole cluster, resulting in a cluster-level privilege escalation. This issue has been addressed in release version 0.18.0. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
